It’s telling, then, that I was able to find talking about Grand Theft Auto V‘s improvements so easy, eating up almost a thousand words on detailing all the advancements. More than perhaps any other game out there, GTA V could easily have gotten away with churning out a slightly better looking game and calling it a day. That a game could be guaranteed money no matter how slapdash the production, and still go above and beyond what other publishers have done this year, is incredibly laudable, and at least worth a golf clap. Even if you don’t care for the series, one cannot deny the pride Rockstar appears to have in its games. While I’d love 60fps, and could do with the overall controls feeling a little bit tighter, I can’t deny that Rockstar’s put the effort into this one, and it’s one of the few double downs I’d feel relatively confident recommending to those who’ve already played it. Although the majority of it is rural, know that it’s not that they’ve taken away from the city, but simply added hundreds of miles of land outside it just for good fun. The city itself is huge and rivals the entire world of GTA IV. Outside of it, there’s mountains, rivers, beaches, desert and more. Surprisingly, however, hardly any of it is empty. There’s small towns, unique buildings, military bases and more sprinkled throughout. The incredible thing is how alive it all seems. Off one of the back roads, for instance, I noticed a car pull over at a fruit stand and decided to see if it was a coincidence, but nope — a woman got out, walked up to it and examined the produce. That’s level of detail to expect in the world, from the boardwalks with interactive rides to trains carving through mountain passes. To add some spice for players who like to drive around exploring the world, random events have been added that unfold during a day. After stopping the miscreant in one of these robberies, you can either keep the stolen item for yourself or return it to the victim. Doing the latter results in good karma that might just come back to you later in the game.<br>

A week before E3, and more than halfway through its Kickstarter campaign to raise $1.35 million, Paul Caporicci, CEO and founder of Precursor Games, canceled the Kickstarter - which hadn't even crossed the 10% mark - and posted a message starting they're postponing the Kickstarter and will relaunch later with "new developments." Having launched in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V quickly become the highest selling entertainment product in history by surpassing over one billion dollars in sales over the course of just three days. After only six weeks, Rockstar were able to sell over 29 million copies of GTA V – with the rate continuing to grow even after almost four years since its release. Grand Theft Auto V is currently sitting at over 75 million copies sold worldwide - across all platforms.

The golden tree plays no role in the game’s story-line; leaving many to believe that it may in fact be related to another easter egg within the game. The most common connection that players have found has been the Mount Chiliad Mystery - although nothing can be official confirmed until the mystery is solved. Other players in the community have even suggested that the tree may be a glitch as areas such as the Grand Senora desert have bushes that appear gold at night.

Chain reactions: they're absolutely everywhere, from mediocre mid-90s action flicks, to upbeat Diana Ross pop hits, these cascading dominoes of destruction even make their way into the occasional video game-or-three. GTA is pretty well known for its violent content, but aside from that, is also renowned for the unique satire found in the games. This is a perfect marriage of the two in one picture. Among the plethora of new features added to GTA V , one minor aesthetic one was the ability to take selfies. It’s led to some pretty funny content coming out of the GTA V community. Everything from characters with weird hairstyles to gruesome scenes like this, casually captured on camera can be found online. Subscription models and pay walls just don't work anymore. Nearly every major triple-A MMO game has had to drop paid subscriptions and outside of World of Warcraft and EVE Online , publishers are now relying on free-to-play models supporting by premium services and microtransactions to find success. Every game from EverQuest and Star Wars: The Old Republic to Lord of the Rings Online and Star Trek Online have embraced the switch and most new games coming out, including some making the jump to PlayStation 4 (see: Warframe, PlanetSide 2 & DC Universe Online ), are launching with the model in mind.
