Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy and the brand new Legend Valkyrie are making their debut in the Apex Games on May 4, and we’ve sat down with the team at Respawn Entertainment to get some details on what we can expect to see from the new sea

[DK] I will say it's interesting that you can choose your weapons freely, particularly for Exclusive Mobile characters like Rampart who have a strong binding to a weapon class, right? If you play Rampart in the Battle Royale, sometimes the RNG will just screw you and you never see an LMG. And you're like, 'well, I guess I don't have a passive this game.' In Arenas if you want to load in and buy a Spitfire every round, more power to you, have

Apex Legends has also spent some serious time introducing lore and adventures that are allowing users to feel a bit more invested in the game. Each one of the legends has a different power that also makes it that much more fun to give the game a try over and over again. Because there isn't a ton of stories in these games, finding a way to take advantage of replayability is key and Apex Legends has certainly cracked that c

There was a time when the battle royale genre of video games seemed to begin and end with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds . Better known as PUBG, this really was the game that started a parade of other games in the genre. Some are good, though, while some fall a little bit short. These days, there are a ton of them to choose from, no matter what platform is used. The sheer number of games out there can make it a bit hard to decide on what to play and what stands out from the p

Players already know that each character has a trio of abilities unique to them. A tactical, a passive, and an ultimate. Mirage's ultimate (the one that takes the longest to charge and can be used less frequently) is to create a lot of clones of himself at once. This often confuses enemy teams as it is hard to tell who the real Mirage is or if he is even there at

Many fans believe that his goggles definitely have a more practical use. One way is by protecting his eyes from becoming dry whilst running at high speeds. The other way is also protecting his eyes whilst players use his ultimate ability. Octane's ultimate ability is throwing down jump pads that players can use to avoid dying in sticky situatio

When the ultimate ability ends after a few seconds, players have either been able to make a sly escape out of enemy sights or they have snuck up behind them. Unfortunately for the enemy by the time they realize that the player is behind them, it is already too l

[DK] Well, we don't have plans quite honestly. We don't believe in building a thing specifically for esports. I come from a company [Riot Games] that's done things very differently. In the early days [Riot] didn't get involved in esports for League of Legends until the community started running their own tournaments. I personally feel that's a much better way to do it. Follow the lead of your players. Obviously we have very high hopes. We think Arenas is a very competitive, really cool mode. We've had these round nine games that go to Sudden Death, where we're all shouting on Discord. So we do have very high hopes that it can be competitive mode. We haven't made any fixed plans yet. We'll see how players deal with it. We'll see what the reception is and then we'll support whatever players want to

Therefore the only option most players have is to save up their crafting materials. True fans of the game know that saving up crafting materials can take a very long time, especially if they are high-level players. High-level players tend to get rewarded fewer Apex packs if they haven't paid for that season's battle pass. For many fans, some costumes do seem like a dr

One thing true Mirage fans know is that the guy loves winding up the other legends. In the Season 8 trailer , fans get a glimpse of his cheeky attitude after a somewhat insulting comment was made about Fuse. Therefore fans have speculated that Mirage wouldn't have been above pulling outdated pranks against the other lege

One of the most fun aspects of playing as Mirage, according to fans such as kingofraging on Instagram, is surprising unsuspecting enemies. After players trigger the ultimate ability it often sends enemy teams into a slight panic mode of trying to figure out where the player has g

His flamboyant and playful finishers in-game are yet another reminder of his intoxicating charisma. As loyal players already know, finishers are special moves that can be done in-game to finish an enemy off once they're downed. One of Mirages' finishers involves him dancing like an iconic music star whilst putting the enemy player out of their misery. Only Mirage could get away with being so playful whilst being so viol

Speaking of magic, Spellbreak has its entire focus on magic. When it comes to Spellbreak - which just saw Season 2 land - all the usual battle royale aspects are included. However, rather than landing on a map and looking for the best guns, players are on the hunt for ways to soup up their magical powers. The game also has a unique look that is somewhat reminiscent of Fortnite but with its own s
