Palworld: How To Set Up Base

Make sure you're in an ideal location for your playstyle, then craft the Palbox where you would like to set up your base. Once crafted, you will see a blue perimeter signifying your base zone. You can then build anything else within this zone. While you won't receive an error when building outside the zone, whatever is built out of the perimeter may not be protected by the Pals assigned at your base.

Aside from the other obvious mission, catching your starter Pal and a few others, it's also important that you set up a base. This base will be key to your survival as you can store your valuables, farm essentials, and have a safe place for your Pals.

Palworld has been a huge success, and its player base only seems to be growing. Now, it is important to note that only the bases with a Palbox can be used for Fast Travel , so it's not a bad idea to try and spread these out from each other so you are able to cover more ground through traveling between them . You can also move a Palbox if you need to by going into Disassembly mode and tearing it down. This will tear down everything within the radius of the Palbox and give you a small fraction of the resources you used to build them.

Having more than one base could be a huge benefit in terms of navigating around the map and also keeping yourself alive and well-rested. Being able to have multiple new points to fast travel to when you want can make the game a lot less tedious than walking across the entire landscape just to get somewhere. And with how quickly the difficulty ramps up when visiting these areas, I found it only took a few shots from some enemies before I went down. To be fair, yes, catching Pals and adding them to your collection so you can level up, unlock new technology, and build bigger and better bases is the central mechanical theme surrounding Palworld. (I'm still not sure what the story-based theme is, besides fighting random human baddies who belong to organizations I know nothing about, but it's still an Early Access title).
