Though it's certainly a breath of fresh air for the third-person shooter Gears of War series, in terms of turn-based tactics, Gears Tactics doesn't innovate. While it may be a neat diversion for those who don't have much experience with the genre, it really doesn't break much ground, and it would have bee nice to see a more unique take on these newly top-down gameplay scenar

Even so, Gears Tactics players will likely be having enough fun with the gameplay that the repetitive missions may not bother them that much. Plus, the side missions do give players the chance to collect more loot and level up their characters. And this is where Gears Tactics becomes especially difficult to put down. It's probably not the best turn-based squad tactics game ever nor the best Gears of War title out there, but Gears Tactics is an impressively solid adaptation of the beloved Xbox franchise, proving that The Coalition is capable of bringing out the best in the couch co-op classic while continuing to take risks. Gears Tactics doesn't shy away from the blood and gore that helped establish the main series' identity, and players will find themselves demolishing countless Locusts throughout the course of Gears Tactics ' lengthy campai


If anyone is used to playing XCOM or Darkest Dungeon or any other tactical RPG , it may seem vital to heal the downed soldiers as soon as possible in battle, lest they develop some permanent negative trait. That’s not the case in Gears Tactics tho
