Every New Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Ability Confirmed So Far

From WarhammerWorkshop

One of the first new abilities that was revealed showed Link passing through the ground on one of Tears of the Kingdom 's floating islands . This was first shown in Nintendo 's teaser at E3 2021 (now found on YouTube), but has not appeared since. When Link uses it, he floats upwards while surrounded by some kind of green light, and briefly pauses halfway through the ground before popping out of the other side. Immediately before this, a scene showed a drop of water falling to the ground in reverse, though the significance of this is unknown. Strange music also plays for the duration of the clip, and extends into the following

Another of Link's new abilities in Tears of the Kingdom is something that will allow him to return objects to a previous position. This power also comes from Link's new arm in the BOTW sequel , and has been shown twice so far. The first time was in the E3 2021 trailer, where Link used it to send a spiked ball back at some enemies, and the second was in the latest Tears of the Kingdom trailer, where he used it to ride a large rock up through the air. Both times, the world turned black-and-white, but everything continued to move around the affected object. This ability looks very similar to BOTW 's Stasis and serves a similar function, and it's possible that it's a new or advanced form of

Despite the minimal information given in the trailer for Tears of the Kingdom from the September 2022 Nintendo Direct, the imagery from the hieroglyphs suggests that the Zonai will play an important role. It also seems that Hyrule's history will be further explored, particularly the darker portions and possibly their role in the Great Calamities. This isn't the first time that Hyrule's history has been referenced as being dark, but the events of that history are not always expanded upon in-g

Before Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom _ releases, some players may want to go back and do everything they've left unfinished in its predecessor, _Breath of the Wild . There's a massive amount of things to do and see in BOTW , some of which are easy to overlook or difficult to complete, and there are still secrets being discovered in BOTW 5 years after its release. Tears of the Kingdom releases on May 12 of 2023, leaving plenty of time for players to go back and scour Hyrule for everything they might have mis

By the time Link's journey begins in Breath of the Wild , there are no living members of the Zonai tribe left. Like the Sheikah, the Zonai have a specific spiral-like symbol associated with them. This symbol makes it easy to identify which ruins belong to the Zonai tribe in order to learn about them and their history, and possibly connect them to Twilight Princess through the Twili being the lost Zonai tribe's true identi

While Breath of the Wild ’s title seems to warrant no further analysis, its parallels to the title of Tears of the Kingdom may reveal more about the sequel’s plot than initially meets the eye. BOTW 's story was told primarily through Link’s recovered memories, allowing the Hero to rediscover his role of protecting Hyrule from Ganon’s malice after his 100-year slumber. Considering that Link bears the Triforce of Courage associated with the Wind Goddess Farore, it makes sense to associate him with "breath" in the game’s title. In a similar vein, Link serves as a literal link between the player and Hyrule throughout the franchise, allowing them to explore the "wild" through his character. As such, Breath of the Wild becomes an incredibly fitting title as much of the game revolves around simply allowing players to explore Hyrule as the Link Home Customization of BOTW 's e

There's also more creative challenges like custom builds for Link to use in Breath of the Wild . For example, players might only wear the Guardian Armor and use Ancient and Guardian weapons, or the Barbarian armor with Bokoblin and Moblin weapons. They can play through the entire game with only the starting clothes and terribly weak weapons like Tree Branches if they so wish. Playing through the game on Master Mode - which is something of a survival mode that was introduced in BOTW 's Master Trials DLC - can also add an extra challenge. Players can even set smaller rules like only using archery in combat, or only using bombs. Breath of the Wild 's open-world format and its focus on player freedom mean that there's plenty of ways to play and keep the game fresh until _Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom _ comes

In Breath of the Wild , Link has a variety of abilities at his disposal to help him navigate the world and defeat his enemies. The majority of these come from the Sheikah Slate, a mystical artifact left to him by Princess Zelda. With it, he can create bombs, manipulate metal, freeze water into climbable pillars, and even stop time for enemies or inanimate objects. Other powers come from the spirits of his friends, the former Champions who lost their lives fighting Calamity Ganon 100 years prior. From what's been shown of Tears of the Kingdom so far, it's uncertain if these powers will return, but thankfully there will be others to take their pl
